Infused Water

Infused water is one of the most delicious and healthiest ways to get your daily amount of fluids.

It doesn’t matter if it is hot or cold outside, most of us struggle to keep drinking water and prefer either tea, coffee, juice or any other flavoured drinks.

Infused water is so beneficial, full of nutrients and flavour. You can get creative, seasonal and make various combinations using nature’s goodness.

The only things you need are a jug, ideally glass, and a creative mind. It is usually good enough to prepare a fresh infusion in the morning for the day but if you prefer to have a stronger flavour you can prepare it the night before and leave it to brew overnight.

Have a walk through your garden and you may already find a few greens or berries to put into your jug or get inspiration in the fruit and veggie section in the shop.

rosemary, elderflower, nettle, lemon balm, mint, oregano, marjoram, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, currants, cherries, cucumber, celery leaves/stalk, melon, lemon, orange, grapefruit, cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, cloves, anise, other fruits and herbs.

For warmer days, fruit options and greens are always very refreshing and you do not need too much of them. Usually, simpler combinations are nicer and not too overwhelming.

For cooler days, try some warm spices like ginger, cinnamon, turmeric, clove, anise.

Be playful, every herb, fruit or spice will give flavour and some added nutrients so you gain even more benefits from drinking your water.

Adding a bit of good quality salt, such as Pink Himalayan salt, for those who are often dehydrated is an option, as it adds electrolytes to help water absorption by your body.

Make sure that you always collect your greens and fruits from areas away from pollution and wash them well. If using citrus fruit, give preference to organic ones as they have no chemicals absorbed in their skin. If it is not possible, cut the skin off and use only the centre of the fruit.

Be creative, be playful, connected to nature, to the herbs, greens, fruit and to your body and mind.
What you drink, eat and breathe is what your body becomes.

Enjoy
