Discover Sun Salutation Mantras

Sun Salutation is not just a physical exercise but also inner work.

Discover mantras related to each posture and add the attitude of gratitude to your Sun Salutation practice.

Mantras refer to a combination of syllables, sounds, or phrases, which can be chanted or sung. In the case of Sun Salutation, they are sung in praise of the Sun. Chanting mantras has subtle yet penetrating effects on both mind and body.
There are 12 mantras which praise different qualities of Sun and add a profound spiritual touch to the entire practice.

The only rule to remember is to chant them with gratefulness. Each sun salutation mantra has a specific meaning, but it is not important to focus or remember what each mantra means. Chant with an open heart and allow the sound of mantra to enter your body, mind and spirit.

The mantras can be included in your practice in various ways. For example, each mantra can be sung before each posture verbally and loud enjoying the sound and its resonance or it can be recited quietly in your mind. Once you develop a flow within Sun Salutation practice the mantras can be recited as you move from posture to posture.
Bringing a gentle smile on our face can add a special aspect to our practice.
